Action E2 – Web pages

Bilingual Italian-English web pages will be created, including the objectives and the results of the project, an album of photos describing its various activities, press releases, a FAQ section, an organized system of response to both questions and criticism received via the internet. Web pages will be linked to the institutional websites of five beneficiaries.
The creation of web pages aims to:
• inform and raise people’s awareness of the motivations and objectives of the project;
• inform and raise people’s awareness of alien species and the necessity of protecting biodiversity on the islands;
• reduce the foreseeable cases of opposition to the project by attracting attention to the species that will benefit from interventions;
• provide guidance in order to discourage irresponsible behavior related to the introduction of alien species in insular environments and indicate the approach that should be adopted with respect to the presence of rodent baits;
• raise the Pelagie Islands residents’ awareness of instances of preservation;
• start a positive process of involvement of the inhabitants of Linosa in preservation and protection of nature and environmental aspects of the island;
• significantly increase environmentally friendly tourism during low season;
• support small businesses focused on presence of both Mediterranean Cory’s and Yelkouan Shearwater and managed by young residents and local people working in turism industry.
